|"Learning as I go..."|
What is dying?
A ship sails and I stand watching
till she fades on the horizon,
and someone at my side
says, "She is gone".
Gone where? Gone from my sight,
that is all; she is just as
large as when I saw her...
the diminished size and total
loss of sight is in me, not in her,
and just at the moment
when someone at my side
says "she is gone", there are others
who are watching her coming,
and other voices take up the glad shout,
"there she comes!" ...and that is dying.-- Bishop Charles Henry Brent --
I started lampworking about three years ago and love working with molten glass to create a final object that's both practical and beautiful. It's just hard to see the final pieces go off to their final homes... |
My sister got me started with metalcraft back in December 2010, so I've been doing a bit of that, and mixing the two mediums together.
I started playing with Photoshop in November 2011 when two consecutive car wrecks within two weeks had me out of work for a month and a half and unable to do my glasswork. I still needed to play with my rainbows and I can't sit and not do something, so I started to play. In January 2012 I wound up with a collapsed lung and the need to hang at home again, so I turned to digital art again.
I'm still at the "what does THIS do?" stage, and scrounging for tutorials, but I'm having fun.
You can find rainbows anywhere...
